DC United are hopeful of getting a deal “over the road” to convey Everton ahead Wayne Rooney to MLS, says coach Ben Olsen.
Everton have given Rooney permission to talk to the American membership and a deal has been agreed in principle.
The previous England captain, 32, is believed to have been provided a deal till the tip of the 2020 season.
“There may be curiosity in Wayne Rooney from our finish and I feel there may be curiosity from his finish too,” added Olsen.
