Harry Maguire: Leicester Metropolis boss Claude Puel guidelines out promoting defender
Leicester Metropolis supervisor Claude Puel says England defender Harry Maguire isn’t on the market regardless of reported interest from quite a few top-six golf equipment.
Manchester United, Manchester Metropolis and Tottenham have all been linked with the 25-year-old summer signing from Hull.
However Puel says he needs to “construct his staff” across the centre-half, who made his England debut in opposition to Lithuania in October.
“He’s a precious participant for us. It’s simply hypothesis,” stated Puel.
Maguire joined Leicester for £17m and has performed each minute of the Foxes’ Premier League marketing campaign to date.
He has received 4 England caps and is in competition for a spot in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the World Cup in Russia.
“He got here into Leicester and performed and developed and he must proceed to enhance,” stated Puel.
“He is a younger participant with implausible attributes, a world participant, and it’s a good factor to have this participant at Leicester.
“He is a crucial participant for us and you will need to give him a very good feeling for the long run, to construct a very good staff round him and to maintain a very good ambition for the long run.”
Requested if that meant he wouldn’t be promoting Maguire, Puel replied: “After all.”
The Frenchman says goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel could miss Leicester’s Premier League match in opposition to Southampton on Thursday after he picked up an ankle damage within the 2-1 defeat in opposition to Burnley on Saturday.
“The issue is in his ankle and we’ll see if he can play,” stated Puel. “For the second, he can’t prepare with us.”
